The new global crime series MOBLAND premiered Sunday, March 30, exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Canada, the U.K. and Australia. Kristen Wiig and Gloria Estefan have joined the cast of live-action/animated adventure comedy Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie. DreamWorks Animation president Margie Cohn announced the news from the Colosseum stage inside Caesars Palace in Las Vegas during Universal Pictures’ CinemaCon presentation on Wednesday (April 2) afternoon, saying, “Our girl is primed and ready for her feature theatrical debut.”
The film is set to be released in theaters across the U.S. on Friday, September 26.
Estefan will play Grandma Gigi in the hybrid family adventure, with Wiig in a “new spin on the crazy cat lady,” Cohn said.
The movie is a big-screen version of Netflix’s popular kids series, whose 11th season debuted on the streamer in February. The film sees Gabby (Laila Lockhart Kraner, reprising her role from the series) head out on a road trip with her Grandma Gigi to the urban wonderland of Cat Francisco. But when Gabby’s dollhouse, her most prized possession, ends up in the hands of an eccentric cat lady named Vera, Gabby sets off on an adventure through the real world to get the Gabby Cats back together and save the dollhouse before it’s too late.
Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is directed by Ryan Crego (executive producer of Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh, I Heart Arlo), who earned a Children’s and Family Emmy nomination for his television feature Arlo the Alligator Boy. The film is produced by Steven Schweickart, who has served as a production supervisor or co-producer on some of DreamWorks Animation’s biggest blockbusters including How to Train Your Dragon, The Croods and most recently, Kung Fu Panda 4, which has earned almost $500 million worldwide.
Also featuring in the film are Logan Bailey, Eduardo Franco, Juliet Donenfeld, Blue's Clues alum Donovan Patton, Sainty Nelsen, Maggie Lowe, Carla Tassara, the Fairly OddParents' Tara Strong and Secunda Wood.

Gabby’s Dollhouse, which is now in its 11th season (76 episodes overall), first premiered on Netflix in January of 2021. Created by Blue’s Clues veterans Traci Paige Johnson (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood) and Jennifer Twomey (Team Umizoomi), the interactive show combines live-action and animation and follows the adventures of Gabby (voiced and portrayed by Laila Lockhart Kraner) and her feline friends (the Gabby Cats) inside the magical dollhouse. The show, which was renewed for a 12th season, has been a huge success for Netflix and DreamWorks Animation, and is considered one of the the top preschool brands in the U.S. across publishing, home, apparel and more. The Gabby’s Dollhouse YouTube channell gets a million visitors weekly. In addition to Netflix, the series also airs on Nick Jr. channels in selected territories, including the U.S., UK & Ireland, and Australia.
During her time on stage, Cohn detailed the cultural impact Gabby has had in her short life since being created by DreamWorks, citing a YouTube channel with three billion views, a best-selling consumer products line, and ratings that make keep it consistently in Netflix’s top 10. (She said the ratings are so strong that it is on par with shows like The Lincoln Lawyer, Reacher and Bridgerton.)
“She’s big and she’s about to get much bigger,” Cohn said, revealing plans propelled by NBC Universal that will see the franchise expanding into theme parks, live entertainment, gaming, interactive offerings and more. “Which is to say that our girl is primed and ready for her theatrical debut,” Cohn said, adding that it will be an “all new hybrid family adventure” that is “imaginative and interactive.”

The Brand’s Kids Line Teams with the Iconic Animated Series SpongeBob SquarePants for a F.U.N., Conscious Capsule
Stella McCartney Kids has unveiled a new unisex capsule collection in partnership with Nickelodeon, marking the 25th anniversary of the beloved animated series SpongeBob SquarePants. The limited-edition 38-piece collection incorporates iconic characters from the show into a range of apparel and accessories designed for children ages 0 to 14.
The collaboration introduces a variety of clothing items including swimwear, footwear, and vegan accessories, featuring the familiar faces of SpongeBob and his underwater friends. The products are available in styles that cater to both girls and boys.
This launch comes amidst growing concerns about the fashion industry’s environmental impact. According to research published in Nature Climate Change, marine life is under significant threat, with up to 90% at risk of extinction by 2100 unless action is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Fashion contributes notably to environmental degradation, being responsible for a large portion of microplastic pollution in the oceans and accounting for about 20% of global freshwater pollution, as highlighted in reports by McKinsey and JustOneOcean.
In response to these challenges, the capsule collection by Stella McCartney Kids x SpongeBob SquarePants is made from 93% sustainable materials and is 100% cruelty-free, reflecting the brand’s commitment to ecological responsibility, thus protecting our fellow creatures and Mother Earth for future generations”. The collection features a variety of beach and skater-inspired designs, including light crochet knits, denim, and tie-dye loungewear made from organic cotton. Additionally, bombers, bags, and swimwear crafted from recycled materials help reduce plastic waste in oceans.
The lineup includes acid wash yellow and vintage wash denim sets embroidered with characters from Bikini Bottom, as well as pieces in bright yellow crochet showcasing SpongeBob himself. The collection also features tie-dye themes on organic cotton jersey, fleece, and denim sets, with McCartney typography iterations available in block colourways, along with monochrome sketches on pinstripe cotton poplin sets, faded denim shorts, and boxy tees.
